Always wanted to be an astronaut? NASA is now hiring

This job opportunity is out of this world — literally. For the first time in over four years, NASA is accepting applications for its next crop of astronauts, the agency announced Monday.

Not every space hopeful will get to don the iconic astronaut suit, however. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and meet one of the stringent education requirements, which include having either a master’s degree in a STEM field, a medical degree, or a combination of a STEM degree and test pilot training.

Scientists detected ripples in space and time from a potentially new class of collision in the universe. Their observatory cracked a 100-year-old mystery posed by Einstein

Scientists may have stumbled upon a previously unknown class of massive collision in the universe. 

On Monday, researchers at the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO) announced that they had yet again detected ripples in space-time. They think these particular disturbances in the fabric of the universe — which were observed in April 2019 — came from the collision of two neutron stars, the super-dense remnants of dead stars.

Whirlpool Galaxy: A wonder of stars in space

In past, we can only see the sun, the moon, and stars. The advancements in science took place and made people able to see and study the solar system. Further developments made scientists able to study the Milky Way Galaxy. Science is getting advance with time and is finding its way in space step by step. Space is full of different wonders. At present, scientists have found one such wonder named as Whirlpool Galaxy.

Is the US Military Spending More on Space than NASA?

A whole lot of cash is getting funneled to space from the Defense Department.

“We have liftoff for the NROL-65 of the National Reconnaissance Office!” a voice calls out. Moments later, a gigantic orange rocket rolls out of a hanger decorated with a massive American flag and blasts off. Accompanied by a guitar riff, the rocket sails into the sky.
